Healthy Body, Healthy Mind Conference

The conference provides an opportunity for any senior school leader, business manager, Physical Education and health and wellbeing professional who is determined to maximise the benefits of physical activity, Physical Education and health opportunities for their schools and wider communities.

The conference brings leading keynote speakers and practitioners who will support schools and provide innovative solutions and advice on how to strategically drive health and wellbeing forward.

Dr William Bird MBE, who founded Intelligent Health, will provide a challenging and engaging keynote.  Through Intelligent Health, William has helped develop physical activity strategies and been commissioned by cities in the UK and the EU, and advised WHO in the Middle East.  In 2010 William was awarded the MBE by The Queen for services to promote physical activity and health. 

The packed agenda will provide practical learning for delegates as well as an opportunity to network with peers and leading suppliers in the world of PE, school sport and physical activity.

Working alongside the Youth Sport Trust & PE and School Sports Networks, Sporting Futures training will give an overview of opportunities to deliver PE and Health Apprenticeship programmes within your areas. Working with Active Fusion as a hub site, this successful, established programme continues to expand. Giving young people opportunities to aspire and achieve through the extension of the PE and School Sports pathways.

National Keynote – Jon Smedley – Youth Sport Trust 

Jon Smedley is an Educational Consultant and Managing Director of ‘Maths of the Day’.  He has a wealth of experience as a senior leader, a Primary Advisor and PE consultant.  He is passionate about ‘active learning’ and works with schools across the UK and Internationally to promote an active school day.  Jon will use his expertise to demonstrate how the more active child achieves more.
