Active Fusion, Doncaster’s leading Physical Education and School Sport training provider, delivered the ‘Healthy Body, Healthy Mind Conference’ in partnership with Yorkshire Sport Foundation and Active Rotherham on Friday 27 January 2017 at The New York Stadium, Rotherham.

Over 140 delegates attended the conference including senior school leaders, business managers, Physical Education and health and wellbeing professionals. The conference provided delegates with the opportunity to maximise the benefits of physical activity, Physical Education and health for their schools and wider communities.

Keynote speakers included Dr William Bird MBE, family GP who founded intelligent Health to provide ways to integrate physical activity into health and wellbeing and John Smedley, educational Consultant and Managing Direct of ‘Maths of the Day’. Both speakers delivered inspirational talks to inspire delegates to work towards improving PE and school sport, for the greater good of child development.

Delegates were more than happy to get on their feet and participate in one of the Active Fusion feel good ‘Daily Dance’ routine created by Sarah Belk, Dance Development Officer. “Daily Dance” is a dance programme designed for the class room for both KS1 and KS2 children, which contain seven short dance routines set to popular music. The package encourages children to take a short break during lessons, standing behind their desks for 5 minutes of physical activity.
