Annual Doncaster PE Conference 2025: Using Pupil Voice to Create more Active Schools

On Thursday 20th March 2025, we gathered at The Hub for an inspiring day dedicated to empowering educators and school leaders in creating more student-led, active learning environments.

With the theme “Using Pupil Voice to Create More Active Schools,” the event featured a dynamic programme filled with expert insights, hands-on workshops, and practical strategies to bring student voices to the forefront of education.

This year’s conference delivered enriching experiences, with renowned keynote speakers offering fresh perspectives on physical education and well-being. Interactive workshops provided real-world tools and approaches to foster more engaging classrooms. Attendees also had ample opportunities to connect with like-minded peers, all passionate about building more inclusive, active school cultures.

Introducing: Dean Coomer

Attendees gained valuable insights from Dean Coomer, a highly regarded Psychological Skills Mentor and member of the British Psychological Society. With a distinguished career spanning elite sport, senior leadership coaching, and 26 years in the military, Dean has excelled in enhancing human performance and psychological well-being.

Notably, he supported the GB Taekwondo squad in their preparations for Paris 2024 and has worked with CEOs, NHS consultants, and specialist military units. Renowned for his dynamic presentations, Dean inspired educators with practical strategies to build resilience, leadership, and active participation in schools, empowering them to foster healthier, thriving communities.
