Exciting Changes for Doncaster School Games: Welcoming New Organisers
The School Games in Doncaster are entering a new chapter as Active Fusion announces key leadership changes in the North, East, Central, and South areas. Two experienced professionals will take on the roles of School Games Organisers (SGOs), bringing fresh energy and expertise to the programme.
Introducing Josh Bateman: SGO for Doncaster North and East
Josh Bateman has been appointed as the new SGO for the Doncaster North and East area, succeeding Hannah Lane. Josh joins with extensive experience in community sports management, having worked with Active Fusion and the Leeds United Foundation. His passion for youth engagement and sports development promises to inspire schools across the region.
Welcoming Patrick Stothard: SGO for Doncaster Central and South
Patrick Stothard steps into the SGO role for Doncaster Central and South, following in the footsteps of Craig Dallas. Patrick brings a strong commitment to fostering collaboration among schools and communities to promote participation in physical activities and events.
Centralised Support for Schools
Both SGO roles are now hosted by Active Fusion, ensuring streamlined support for schools throughout Doncaster. A new central email address, doncasterschoolgames@activefusion.org.uk, has been created for schools to reach out with queries or requests. Schools can expect support from either or both SGOs, regardless of their location, ensuring comprehensive coverage across the city.
A Fond Farewell from Hannah Lane
Hannah Lane, the outgoing School Games Officer for Doncaster North and East, expressed her gratitude as departure Active Fusion to begin a new position in Sports Development for the local District Council. Reflecting on her time with Active Fusion, Hannah said:
“I just wanted to thank you all for your support over the last six years. I have really enjoyed my time supporting and growing the School Games over the past four years. I’ve met some amazing people, children, and young leaders and valued the relationships I’ve built with schools. I wish you and your pupils all the best for the future and hope your school continues to support the School Games in Doncaster.”
