Active Fusion are Finalists at Doncaster Business Awards!
As we enter the season of celebration this December, we are proud to announce we are up for two awards at this year’s Doncaster Business Awards!
Active Fusion is proud to be named as a finalist in the Business Engaging with Education and Third Sector Organisation of the Year award categories.
This past year has been a year like no other. The pandemic has had a profound effect on children and young people, and the families in our communities across South Yorkshire. As a charity that is an advocate for these individuals, we needed to respond to the needs of our beneficiaries by reaching as many of those most in need of our support as possible.
This year has been our biggest year yet. We have loved building relationships with schools, businesses, and our partners. All our programmes, projects, coaching, camps, and apprenticeship provision have created more opportunities than we ever have before. As we look to the future, we are ambitious in our plans to help impact the lives of over 50,000 by 2025.
Being nominated for the category ‘Business Engaging with Education’ is an honour. This award recognises businesses working in partnership with schools to support young people to raise their aspirations and explore pathways into employment.
Over the last year, we have impacted the lives of more than 26,908 children and young people improving their physical health, mental wellbeing, and creating life changes. We do this by providing training, volunteering, apprenticeships, and employment.
We put young people at the heart of everything that we do. Their voice has shaped our vision, mission, values but most importantly it keeps us in touch with how the charity can make a positive impact on their issues.
We have our largest cohort of PE and Sport, and Community Sport and Health Officer apprenticeships which have tripled for the coming year. We pride ourselves on our inclusive opportunities and have developed over 30 young people through special schools to become better equipped for employment.
Investing in our workforce and locally-based role models ensures we can impact the lives of children and young people in schools and communities. They help provide the extra capacity required in schools and to grassroots community partners to give children the best physical start in life.
We have also been nominated Third Sector Organisation of the year, as well! This award will go to a third sector organisation that the judges believe has been clear in its goals and strategy, effectively promoted its cause and beneficiaries, and demonstrated excellent customer service whilst simultaneously showing growth and sustainability as an organisation since inception.
Active Fusion has a charitable mission to help every child develop a love for being active by unlocking potential and creating positive habits for life. As a charitable organisation, we do not consider having competitors but rather trusted partners with who we collaborate to achieve mutually beneficial health, social, and economic benefits for children, young people, and their families.
We want to provide as many opportunities as possible for children most in need, reach faster as we grow as a charity.
We look forward to what the future holds for us and our children. Thank you so all our funders and donors, partners and sponsors, and of course to the children and young people we work with, to whom without them we couldn’t be the ‘Best we can Be’!
Good luck to all the nominees at the Doncaster Chamber Business Awards!
P.s. Here’s a throwback to last year’s celebrations!
