Active Fusion Surpasses Fundraising Goal in Christmas Challenge
Over £22,000 was raised to support the vulnerable youth in South Yorkshire.
In a remarkable display of generosity, Active Fusion has successfully surpassed its fundraising target in the Big Give: Christmas Challenge 2023, raising an impressive £22,444 to create a more inclusive community for vulnerable children and young people in South Yorkshire.
The annual match funding campaign, which took place from November 28th to December 5th, attracted widespread support, channelling funds towards various good causes. Active Fusion, a dynamic charity committed to helping every child to develop a love for being active, pledged to invest the proceeds into initiatives addressing the pressing needs of disadvantaged youth in the region.
The challenges faced by children and young people in areas of disadvantage across South Yorkshire have been exacerbated by the pandemic, leading to increased levels of poverty and impacting the physical and mental wellbeing of the youth. Active Fusion’s inclusion service plays a pivotal role in addressing these issues, providing a transition support program for young people aged 10-19, particularly those with special educational needs and disabilities.
The program focuses on personal and professional skills development through sports leadership and mentoring, offering a lifeline to some of the most vulnerable members of the community. This includes a bespoke training program covering personal development through sports leadership skills, social and emotional expression through sports and physical activities, and accreditation through Sport Leaders qualifications.
“We are thrilled to announce that, thanks to your incredible support, we not only achieved but surpassed our original target of £16,000. The overwhelming response from our community has resulted in a remarkable £22,444 raised.” expressed Active Fusion in a statement made on their social media.
The vital funding secured during the Big Give: Christmas Challenge empowers Active Fusion to place the transformative power of sports and physical activities directly into the hands of young people, enabling them to become leaders in their own right and positively impact their lives.
The charity extended its deepest gratitude to all donors and supporters, stating, “Your generosity is making a real impact, and we couldn’t be more grateful. Together, we’re changing lives and making a valuable difference to vulnerable young people across South Yorkshire.”
The success of the Big Give: Christmas Challenge 2023 highlights the strength of community support in making a lasting difference in the lives of young individuals facing adversity. As Active Fusion continues its mission, the charity remains steadfast in its commitment to positively impact countless more lives in the years to come.
