Blake’s Story: Kickboxing, Friendship and Adventures at Fusion Camp

Seven-year-old Blake joined Fusion Camp at De Warenne camp this Easter for the second half of the holidays, marking his return for another exciting adventure. Having attended several Fusion Camps previously with his friend Max, Blake was eager to return for more fun and experiences. As always, Blake thoroughly enjoyed his time at camp, and this visit was no exception.

Blake in Motion: From Kickboxing to Camp Fun

Outside of camp, Blake is highly dedicated to kickboxing, training nearly every day for two to three hours, except Sundays, where he enjoys a well-deserved break. When not training, Blake enjoys downtime, often relaxing by watching TV or playing games on his Xbox. He also cherishes quality time with his mum, going on walks together. Additionally, Blake taps into his creative side during his spare time by drawing, showcasing his well-rounded interests outside of physical activities.

At camp, Blake loves spending time with friends and making new ones. He bonded with two new friends, both named Isaac, and enjoys playing football with them, challenging himself by trying to tackle their skilled gameplay. Blake also enjoys basketball for its ability to help him focus. He developed new skills at camp, excelling in football, and surprising himself by performing well on the field, in addition to his usual role as a goalkeeper. As Blake says, “It’s kept me fit and healthy, which is good for my kickboxing.”

Where Friendships Form and Laughter Never Ends

Fusion Camp has been a truly joyful experience for Blake, a place where he feels happy, excited, and never bored. One of the things he loves most is being able to see his friends while also meeting lots of new people. Each day at camp brings something new to look forward to, and Blake shared, “I felt happy every day, I’ve never felt sad or angry.” Blake also has a special appreciation for the coaches, having met several members of the Active Fusion team over time. “I’ve met Oliver before, he’s really funny. And now I’ve met Nathan, and he’s funny and caring, which makes me really happy. They make me laugh, and they’re fair when we play games.” Our coaches are dedicated to creating a fun, supportive environment where every child has the opportunity to shine. At Fusion Camps, fairness, encouragement, and laughter are at the heart of everything we do.

Kindness, Friendship, and Growth

Blake is already looking forward to returning to camp in the future, excited to reunite with his friends and continue building on the skills he’s developed. His kindness and team spirit stood out from the moment he arrived. He was always encouraging those around him, checking in on others, and making sure every child was included and having a great time.

It’s truly heartwarming to see children like Blake looking out for one another, creating friendships that not only flourish at camp but continue outside of it too. Fusion Camps offer the perfect opportunity for children to connect with new friends in their local area, beyond the classroom, building confidence, kindness, and lasting memories.
