Active Fusion announce their Employee of the Year

Active Fusion, in aid of creating a positive working culture for staff, have recently announced their Employee of the Year for 2020.

The award, which is chosen by Active Fusion staff, was brought in last year as a way to energise, encourage and motivate staff to strive to reach their full potential and be the best version of themselves.

This simple, yet effective, way of showing employee appreciation over time has created a positive culture among staff. The award is given to a member of staff who represents the charity’s values, while acting as positive role model and team player to their colleagues.

After a rollercoaster of a year, 2020 saw the charity’s Digital Marketing Officer, Jack Ireland, named Employee of the Year.

Jack joined Active Fusion in January, just in time for the charity’s annual conference, which saw a whole host of teachers, sportspeople and business personnel flock to the Keepmoat Stadium to learn of their work.

Things did not get easier, with the coronavirus pandemic meaning a digital approach was needed to ensure Active Fusion could continue to keep children active.

The self-proclaimed “˜marketing guru’ never took a back step, even during lockdown when other charities struggled, Jack and the team broke new ground, engaging with much larger audience than ever before.

These are just some of the reasons why the staff nominated Jack for this award:

  • He represents everything that an Active Fusion team member should be; passionate, really cares about the charity and the difference they can personally make.
  • He wants to be better than he was yesterday.
  • He is very committed, professional and reliable.
  • He always has a positive attitude.

Active Fusion Director, Lindsy James, commented: “Jack fully deserves this award as he is passionate making a positive difference to the lives of young people.

“He has spread the messages about our impact to others, while he challenges himself to personally grow and is a valued member of the team.”

Jack added: “Receiving this award is an honour. To be commended by my colleagues and senior management has shown me just how valued staff are here at Active Fusion.

“It came as a shock; all the staff here are an absolute pleasure to work with and if it wasn’t for them, I wouldn’t be where I am today. Their work and commitment inspires me to keep improving.”

Congratulations to Jack on making a lasting impact.
