The Barclays Game on Programme is designed to help upskill teachers by developing their confidence and knowledge around Girls Football delivery during curriculum timetables. As the strategic lead for the Girls Football School Partnership we are here to support your school by sharing the opportunities for FREE CPD for teachers through the Game On programme which has 3 elements to the delivery.
Barclays Game Go Teach has been designed to support teachers to develop a new approach to delivering PE in their schools through a life skills focus. Barclays Game On Teacher training will focus on exploring how teachers can engage girls in curriculum physical education through football, identify and develop life skills and support girls to be empowered to lead football-related activity for others. It will be delivered by members of the YST Learning Academy.

All Barclays Game On – GO Teach schools will access an exclusive digital support package to support you in bringing the content to life in your school. You will also be sent physical resource cards and a workbook ahead of your virtual training.
Once you have completed the training your school will be sent a Barclays Game On equipment pack with Nike footballs, bibs and cones.

Young People
Are you passionate about developing football opportunities for girl in your school? Through your school’s involvement in the Girls Football School Partnership you can access Free training to develop your skills and access resources to help create more opportunities!
Barclays Game On – GO Play resource packs include nine ready-made and easy to follow session plans, a menu of game cards, top tips for delivering sessions to meet all your girls needs and more! All of the activities, games and practises in the pack have been designed specifically to engage girls aged 12-14 whether they are a regular player or brand new to football! The focus of the sessions is around bringing girls together, having fun and developing a love for football and building girls confidence and their ability to make active choices.

Barclays Game On – GO Lead provides training to girls in Key Stage 3 to design, create and deliver football opportunities for their peers. Girls’ football activators can follow one of two leadership pathways: marketing or delivery. As a group of activators they will be tasked with delivering an extra-curricular opportunity for their peers to experience and enjoy football.

Officiating in Football
Whistlers by England Football provides an introduction to officiating, improving young girls’ skills and confidence, developing more role models across roles within football.
How old do I need to be?
The course is designed for girls aged 11-14 who have an interest in growing their confidence in officiating and leadership within football.
What does the course teach the young people?
The course is designed to teach girls the basic knowledge and rules of football whilst developing their communication skills.
What can I do on completion of the course?
Your students will be able to support with local festivals and competitions being ran locally by schools, the School Games and support local grass roots football teams festivals.
How does my school get involved?
Secondary school staff will need to sign up to the programme via this link. The teacher who has signed up will need to complete a 2-hour virtual orientation session. On competition of this session, teachers will lead need to lead 6 hours’ of training to the cohort of young leaders. Teachers will be provided with resources, quizzes and certificates to help with the delivery of the course.
