We work with secondary schools in different ways to support primary pupils transitioning:
• Where possible we use secondary school venues to host competitions
We currently run specific KS1 events to engage pupils in the School Games programme. These events are often pupils first opportunity to represent their school at an event and to engage in sport outside of the school environment.
Quad kids: The aim of this event is to engage pupils in four competition events and four game related activities. The competition helps with skill development whilst engaging the pupils in the structure of a competition.
KS1 All Stars Cricket: Festival style event given pupils the opportunity to develop their sending, receiving, target skills and knowledge of cricket through a fun and engaging festival. Focuses on developing their physical literacy skills and confidence ready taking part in Develop and Play events in year 3.
