Pupils from Venn Academy Schools Enjoy an Unforgettable Day at the English Institute of Sport

On Thursday 13th March, Active Fusion proudly welcomed over 200 Year 2 children from Venn Academy Trust schools to the prestigious English Institute of Sport for an exciting day of physical activity and sport. The event provided young pupils with a unique opportunity to engage in fun, dynamic activities designed to inspire a love for movement and well-being.

Venn Academy Trust: A Growing Family of Schools

Established in 2015 with four schools, Venn Academy Trust has since expanded into a diverse family of academies across Yorkshire and the Humber, supporting special, alternative provision, and mainstream academies, including a hybrid free school. With a strong focus on collaboration, the trust works closely with schools, local authorities, and communities to ensure pupils thrive. The event welcomed children from a variety of Venn Academy schools, including Mountbatten Primary School, Thorpepark Academy and Marshland Primary Academy, among others.

Partnerships That Inspire

The success of the day was made possible through the power of partnership. Active Fusion collaborated with academy trusts that share its mission of improving young people’s physical health, happiness, and personal development. Additionally, support from Doncaster College played a vital role in delivering the event, providing its sport and public service students with real-world employability skills and experience. The involvement of apprentices placed in schools further enhanced the impact of the day, demonstrating the value of hands-on learning and mentorship.

A special thank you to Dr Simon Witham, Trust Lead and Accounting Officer (CEO) of Venn Academy Trust, for joining us on the day. His presence highlighted the trust’s commitment to providing enriching experiences for its pupils, reinforcing the importance of sport and physical activity in education.
